Dresser Redo

Howdy, all!

I know I have been MIA for several weeks now, and I appreciate you guys hanging in there with me. My Grandma will be living with me starting Wednesday and I have been frantically trying to get everything ready. It's been a busy time!

I have made time to do some projects, like the one below!

I found this great dresser in a junk store. It was listed for $40 and I paid $30. It had broken runners inside the dresser, and my dad was kind enough to make new ones for me.

I lightly sanded it to get the gunk of, primered it once and then spray painted it with RustOleum satin. I used 3 coats.

I purchased some rub n buff and did the handles in pewter.

I then put liners in the drawers and placed the dresser in the room that will be my Grandma's bedroom. I think it turned out pretty darn cute, don't you?

Edited to add: The picture shows some discoloration on the front of the dresser, but that is just shadowing. :o)

  4. Wow Jennifer it looks amazing! You did such a great job :) I LOVE the curvy detail at the bottom of the dresser! And everything seems to look better in white :) The rub-n-buffed hardware looks great too, it seriously is a miracle product isn't it?! What a sweet surprise for your grandma, I'm sure she loves it!

  10. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave
it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear."
She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her
ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell
    someone!

  11. First of all I want to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question which I'd like to ask if you don't mind.

I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing.
I've had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Kudos!
